General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics are at polar odds with each other, and many physicists are trying to reconcile them in a grand unified theory. Perhaps they are not meant to be unified. Maybe unity is found elsewhere.
Many traditions have a messiah who is thought will come to redeem them and the world. There is perhaps a mystical interpretation of this messianism.
Might our universe be the ongoing unfolding of a black (white) hole Singularity, or One? And might we be that One reflecting on its Self?
God does not have to be at odds with what we learn from science. We need to reinterpret our ideas of God from direct mystical experience, and I think we'll find our science and spirituality are One.
At times these seem to be at odds, but at the deepest level they may be One.
Is there "one true church," and if so, who or what is it?

The unitive mystical experience can be compared to falling into a black hole. When compared this way, it doesn't sound like a nice experience. Likewise, for many mystics throughout history, their divine experiences weren't always a merry venture, sometimes encountering hellish realms along the way (see, for example, St. Teresa of Ávila, or St. John of the Cross's Dark Night of the Soul).
